Events held during-deployment are generally all day events to which the Family Members of the deployed Service Member are invited. They are usually held at two times, at 30 days after the Service Member has departed and 30 days before the Service Member returns home.
During Deployment Sustainment Event
This event focuses on supporting and enhancing resilience of the family while the Service Member is deployed. This event should include items that strengthen spiritual and mental health, promote outreach, provide information on day care, family services, and youth programs, provide community and informational updates and last but not least, provide information on stress control and/or stress control activities. Some programs briefed at the pre-deployment event will be available to provide follow-up information either through an additional brief, question-and-answer sessions, or with static displays. Topics that are briefed during this event can include:
- Spiritual programs
- TRICARE (medical/dental/vision)
- Community outreach
- Stress Management
- Physical & Mental well-being
- Financial Information
Chaplain assistance will be available for consultation. Childcare is provided.
30 Days Prior to Return
This event focuses on reintegration and what the Family can expect upon the return of their Service Member. Some of the topics that may be included in the event are:
- Children and Reunion
- Behavioral health services
- Command/Family Programs brief
Time is also set aside during this event for you and your family to make welcome-home banners for your returning Service Member. Chaplain assistance will be available for consultation. Childcare is provided.
