Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Quantity of Meal Assistance that is Provided?

The amount of assistance that each registered Service Member receives is completely dependent upon the amount and extent of donations received. Assistance will be provided on a sliding scale based on family size.

How Will I Receive my Meal Assistance?

All grocery store gift cards will be mailed to you, so please ensure that you double-check the address that you are entering into the registration survey.

Can I Receive Holiday Meal Assistance in both November and December?

The number of times that we will be able to assist each Family in need will depend upon the number of people that register and the number of and total amount of donations received. Please note, due to limited donations, participants who are still struggling financially in December will need to register again to receive additional assistance.

Can I Also Register for the Adopt-a-Family or Santa Shop program?

Absolutely. In fact, it is encouraged.

Please click here for more information on the Adopt-a-Family program.

Please click here for more information on the Santa Shop program.

Can I Register a Service Member that I Know is in Need?

Yes. It is encouraged that you seek the Service Member’s permission before registering him or her, but it is not a condition. The registration survey will ask you to fill in your information if you are not the Service Member seeking meal assistance. Common relationships that would allow you to register for a Service Member include Spouse, Mom or Dad, fellow Service Member, or a member of that Service Member’s Chain of Command. The information that you would need to know regarding the Service Member to complete the registration includes

Mailing Address

Any Dietary Restrictions

Number of People in Immediate Family

Preferred Grocery Store

Will my Chain of Command be Informed that I Registered for Meal Assistance?

No, your registration is essentially anonymous. We will not be giving any names or personal information to any entities outside of the Family Program Office. If your Chain of Command registers you themselves, then of course they already know…but we do not provide the Chain of Command with a total list of program participants. If a Commander requests numbers, we can tell him/her the number of individuals from his/her Unit that have requested assistance but that is all.
